Trade Name: Silver Beech, NZ Maple Beech.
Botanical Name: Nothofagus menziesii

Source: A New Zealand native hardwood. Common in both islands, but more common in the south.

Availability: Maple Beech has a full FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) rating. Other Silver Beech is harvested according to the Govt Sustainable Forest Management Plan (SFM).

Air Drying Density: 585 - 700kg/m3

Characteristics: The heartwood varies in colour from white to salmon pink. The sapwood is white

Traditional uses: Kitchen, dowel and brushware. Furniture, cabinets and fitments

Generation-4 Timber Top specification:
Maple Beech is an excellent timber for Generation-4 timber tops. It curves well and combines well with Generation-4 finish.

The Generation-4 finish presents a dense but flexible, low maintainance finish, that is waterproof, acid and heat resistant.
